Aula Regia (Bohemice Zbraslavský klášter) fuit abbatia Ordinis Cisterciensis in Aula Regia (Bohemice Zbraslav) prope Pragam in Bohemia.

Historia

Monasterium conditum est anno 1292 a rege Bohemiae Venceslao II. Primi monachi venerunt ex monasterio Sedlecensi in Bohemia. Anno 1305 sepultus est in monasterii ecclesia Beatae Virginis fundator Venceslaus II. Post mortem eius abbates Otto et maxime Petrus Zittaviensis scripserunt Chronicon Aulae Regiae. Elisabetha, regina Bohemiae et benefactrix huius monasterii (filia Venceslai II, uxor Ioannis regis et mater imperatoris Caroli IV), transtulit anno 1326 in Aulam Regiam corpus fratris sui regis Venceslai III, anno 1306 Olomucii necati. Item Elisabetha sepulta est in Aula Regia anno 1330. Rex Venceslaus IV, qui anno 1419 mortuus est, habebat sepulcrum suum in Aula Regia, sed tantum quinque anni, anno 1424 sepultus est in ecclesia cathedrali sancti Viti Pragensis. Anno 1785 abbatia sublata est a imperatore et rege Iosepho II.

They used to have a nice gallery inside, but now it's mainly the outside park that is worth a visit. Beware rather early closing time!

Beautiful castle. But people are only allowed to the small area in the front where cant actually see anything. Go on the bridge near by to get at least some view.
